Mahendra Khadka is a photographer born & brought up in Kathmandu, Nepal. His works explore people, places & environment, through a gaze that follows minimally personal interests, and the tender perceptions of self/being.
He started doing photography during his bachelors in management, and soon a workshop on storytelling held in the city, introduced a new light upon his practice. Engaging himself with Photo Circle (a photography community based out of Kathmandu) and volunteering at their photography festival Photo Kathmandu, inspired him more. Further, in 2016 he joined the International Semester Program of Pathshala South Asian Media Institute, Dhaka, Bangladesh. He participated at ‘Angkor Photo Workshops’ in 2017, He also participated in three weeks’ intensive program "Doing visual politics" which explores contemporary issues in visual communication in 2018. Later in 2020 he attended International Documentary course between Oslo metropolitan University, Pathshala and Photo circle.
